A Suunto 9-et úgy tervezték és gyártották, hogy megfeleljen a sportolók igényeinek. A Suunto belső tesztelő csapatának és sportolóknak a legnehezebb körülmények között történő több ezer órás valós idejű tesztelésével jött létre ez az óra, hogy biztosan megállja a helyét minden kalandodban. Természetesen a Suunto már jól megszokott engedélyezésein is végigment a Suunto 9, azaz a katonai teszteken, ahol ütés, fagyasztás, por és egyéb nehezített környezetben kellett az órának helytállni.

Three predefined battery modes – Performance, Endurance and Ultra – deliver from 25 hours to up to 120 hours of recording time with GPS tracking on. Suunto 9 uses smart reminders based on your activity history to help ensure you are fully charged for your next outing. If the watch notices you are running low on battery during an exercise, it will automatically suggest changing to a different battery mode.
